Duke Ellington has been called America’s greatest composer. The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis explores the inimitable style and infectious swing of the man who truly deserved the name “Duke.”

What is Improvisation?
February 11, 1pm & 3pm
Drummer Matt Wilson and his Arts and Crafts ensemble will lead audiences through an interactive program on the most fundamental component of jazz, improvisation, as they explore how jazz musicians invent music in the moment.

What is New Orleans Jazz?
April 21, 1pm & 3pm
Drummer Alvin Atkinson and friends invite families to join the Second Line parade and express their own personal style through movement and song as they learn the language of New Orleans jazz.
