We invite you to bring the sound and spirit of jazz to your students with Jazz for Young People® at Frederick P. Rose Hall and Jazz for Young People® On Tour.

Jazz for Young People® Concerts for School Groups
Four special weekday performances of our popular Jazz for Young People Concerts are offered each year specifically for school groups in Rose Theater at Fredrick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center.  Hosted by Wynton Marsalis or by special guests, these hour-long narrated concerts use warmth and humor to introduce key musical concepts and other jazz fundamentals.  This concert series is designed for grades 2 and up.

Drummer Matt Wilson and his Arts and Crafts ensemble will lead students through an interactive, hour-long program on the most fundamental and revolutionary component of jazz: improvisation. With infectious exuberance, Wilson and company will explore how jazz musicians communicate with their instruments and invent music in the moment.

Jazz for Young People® On Tour (formerly Jazz in the Schools)
Professional jazz ensembles travel to schools in all five boroughs of New York City to present hour-long, interactive performances for students of all ages. There are also school-day performances for small student groups at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola.
