New York, NY (4/11/07) Jazz at Lincoln Centeris proudly associated with the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Chops, a documentary film directed by Bruce Broder that follows a Florida high school jazz band's journey to Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival.
Special press screenings will take place on:·

Following this screening, Wynton Marsalis, Artistic Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center, will participate in a Q&A session with the filmmakers.

For more than a decade, Jazz at Lincoln Center and Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis have produced Essentially Ellington, a prestigious 3-day competition and festival of high school jazz bands from across the country. This toe-tapping and empowering documentary focuses on the young musicians from the Douglas Anderson School For the Arts and their experience participating in the event.
