New York, NY (June 27, 2006) – Jazz at Lincoln Center proudly announces the August 2006 lineup of performances at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, kicking off with The Eddie Durham Jazz Festival featuring Fred Wesley and Hiram Bullock. The legendary pianist and composer Cedar Walton starts a much welcomed two week run on August 8, with special guests Steve Turre and Vincent Herring. One of the finest drummers and bandleaders to have ever graced this earth, Roy Haynes, holds down the fort during the week of August 22-27; leading the Fountain of Youth band.  Steve Turre is back to lead us into September with the Steve Turre Septet: Spirit of Rahsaan Roland Kirk featuring Dave Valentin, Billy Harper, Mulgrew Miller, Vincent Herring, Gerald Cannon, and Dion Parson.


 

Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola hosts Happy Hour June 6-September 3 from 4pm to 6pm, featuring a full bar, reduced pricing on beer, wine and cocktails du jour.  Come in before 5:00pm and receive a special offer on the cover charge for the 7:30pm artist set.
