		Come on down to Duke's Place! Have a good band? A great band? A band just looking to be a better band? Whether you want to swing the Big Apple or just thrill the home town fans, the Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Program has something for everyone—from a greater range of scores and teaching guides to regional festivals to professional feedback for everyone! And of course, we still offer our thrilling Competition & Festival for folks just itchin' to come to Jazz at Lincoln Center's House of Swing in New York City to put up their Dukes! The program offers three great ways to get involved: Premium membership ($75—the full package); Basic ($45, for bands looking for development resources) and Student ($25, for undergraduate music education majors). The new membership program takes the very best elements of the nation's premier high school jazz band program and give you three great and affordable ways to get involved. Your membership entitles you to up to six Ellington charts, reference recordings, regional festivals, teaching guides and much more. Here are some ways for you to get involved! Play one or more of the charts included; utilize the online Ellington teaching guides Incorporate lesson plans that address Duke Ellington and his music Read the EE e-newsletter for teaching techniques Make a recording of your band performing the EE charts Submit that recording for the opportunity to perform with Wynton Marsalis as guest soloist as one of the 15 finalist bands during the annual Competition & Festival in New York City, May 15-17, 2008 Submit a recording for professional feedback/comments only and receive a certificate signed by Wynton Marsalis or attend a noncompetitive Essentially Ellington Regional Festival in Spring 2008 (locations: TBA) Have students submit an essay for the Seventh Annual Essentially Ellington Essay Contest JOIN NOW!
