The Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band
Program (EE) is a unique educational resource for high school jazz bands. Created by Jazz at
Lincoln Center during the 1995–96 school year,
the program supports the development of
school music programs through distribution of
the music of Duke Ellington and other seminal
big band composers and arrangers, recordings,
teaching guides, expert feedback, and other
resources. The program also provides repertoire and rehearsal guide, non-competitive regional festivals, and an
annual Competition & Festival held each May in
New York City.
